Power Hour (and Garden)

I am loving spring in Virginia!  It has been 4 years since I have been here in April.

Those of you who read my recent blog post (some went to spam), know that this is the end of a big fundraising period for the local libraries.  I hope you will consider donating $10 or $20 today or tomorrow.  Click below for my “Generosity”  blog post which has the link to use.  I would add the donation link here, but I’m afraid that is what caused some email to flag the post as spam!  https://roaming-nature.com/2026/04/10/generosity/

The Power Hour for Massanutten Regional Library is from 11 to noon tomorrow (April 22) through the Great Community Give . Up to $1000 in donations will be matched in that hour, in addition to competing for $2500 in cash donation prizes.  If that hour isn’t good for you, please consider donating today, with a potential prize as well.  https://roaming-nature.com/2026/04/10/generosity/

Baby Centennial Apples today

Back to the garden, everything is growing fast, including the weeds!  Some of my beds look great thanks to the house sitters we’ve had the past four summers.  They couldn’t keep up with everything,  so other beds are thick with weeds.

Green is good, Red are weeds

If I am here all summer, the veggies will have a chance to compete.  However,  C is itching to travel (he wishes we were heading back to Alaska).  While I have no interest in going to Alaska this year, some short trips will be nice.
