Day Two Driving to Alaska Spring 2025

Knocked out over 400 miles again today.  Unfortunately, most of the drive was in the rain.  Fortunately, we ended the day with friends (and their critters) in Iowa.

Rain on windshield treated with  RainX.

Not a stuffed toy! One week old

The lambs are adorable in every way.  Love their high bleats and gamboling about.

We have been to Costco’s from Virginia to Alaska,  but this one in Iowa is the first we’ve seen with an attached parking garage.

Tomorrow the weather should be better.  We plan to hike fields and woods to place some game cameras.  We’ll get back on the road in the afternoon.

Twins!

Supposedly, the rain we encountered today was going to be 6 to 10 inches of snow at our reserved Minnesota prairie chicken blind. Does anyone know if Greater Prairie Chickens dance in that much snow? I haven’t had a chance to check into it yet…

  1. I’m sorry you didn’t get to spend time with the prairie chickens. 😦

    1. Thanks! Hopefully we will get to see them on Sunday morning, if the snow doesn’t keep them away. My late night post was probably confusing!
