I am working for Shenandoah National Park 16 hours per week until they hire a new Recreational Fees Budget Analyst. Thanks to a cell phone booster & mobile hotspot on my phone I have been able to work remotely since we arrived in Healy.

The lack of running water isn’t a big deal. The only difference is the situational awareness required during a trip to the outhouse. With indoor plumbing I generally continue to think about work during a break. To stay safe, I now need to disconnect from work and look for moose or a bear. In early April I somehow missed a moose stripping bark near the outhouse until I was halfway there.

With only 310 square feet in our cabin I have a temporary kitchen table office rather than a dedicated home office as in VA. It isn’t ideal, but it workable, especially with the limited hours I am working.
