
We are constantly experiencing time warps up here! Somehow we traveled 6 hours before realizing that we had better turn around as it was a long way home. So much beauty around each corner.

Technically the highway isn’t open yet. Where the snow drifts were high it was sometimes only one lane.

No bites fishing. But we had a great time watching ice break up on the Upper Susitna River. Another time warp on the drive back. We spent well over an hour (maybe 2?) watching chunks of ice float downstream.

The “iceberg” in the photo above was the biggest chunk we saw move. We are easily entertained.
We were hoping to see caribou, but none since Day Fifteen of our drive here, (March 16, shortly after leaving the Yukon and entering Alaska). We did see 7 moose, as well as swans, bald eagle, magpie, Ptarmigan & other birds.
