Aurora in Healy, March 2023

Aurora II,  Week 4 in Healy

Another strong Aurora showing last night when I woke up about 1:30 a.m.

From the bedroom window

I could barely raise C who went right back asleep so I went outside myself.

Notice the stars too!

I watched the lights dance for about an hour.  At -10F I came back in the house regularly to avoid getting too cold.

When I went back to bed, I thought C felt hot because I was so cold.  Guess who had a fever & positive COVID test today…

Even though I was tired, the northern lights got me out of bed a few more times before sleep won out.  I  just looked out the bedroom windows though.

Trees in the way, but not bad view from indoors

  1. Mike thought you got COVI but I think it was Charlie. Who’s right?

    1. Charlie, Shar wins! It seemed like a bad cold, but for COVID is mild. Hope I can avoid catching it despite living in a tiny dry cabin together. I have all my vaccines so at least if I get it odds are it will be mild too.

  2. good for you to get up for such a display – especially when it is so-o-o cold. We have camped in place that probably had wonderful dark skies views, but the low temperatures (high 30’s) kept us in bed.

    1. It is a challenge to get out of a warm bed in the middle of a cold night! Hopefully soon you will have some beautiful night skies & warmer temps.
