Aurora in Healy, March 2023

Day Thirteen,  Whitehorse

Day started shortly after midnight with our first ever viewing of the aurora borealis.  We saw beautiful wavy, curling green streaks from our 3rd floor motel room with North-facing windows.  We are looking forward to more viewings (and hopefully some photos) in the coming days and months, if we can pull ourselves out of bed.

While C was working I explored Whitehorse.   I also discovered that a cell phone dies REALLY quickly when you are using it at -1F to both navigate and take photos.   It went from fully charged to completely dead in a little over an hour!  Here are a few photos before it died.

We both enjoyed a day off as well as a little time apart. Travel resumes tomorrow.

  1. How exciting to see the spectacular lights how!

Have been enjoying the posts and tiny pictures on the phone.

We will probably have wifi on Friday. Then we will really be able to enjoy them.

So glad you are finding motels to stay at on the really cold nights.

    Hugs
