Day Five, Jamestown to Canada!

World's Largest Buffalo Monument

Visited the National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown, ND before hitting the road. It was 7F and windy, but I bundled up. Thanks for the warm hat R, D, and E!

7 Degrees at Jamestown Bison

Road had icy patches and blowing snow the first several hours. We saw deer (every day so far), grouse, a bald eagle, and 268 pheasants (est, lol, but A LOT).

Locomotive also headed north, plowing thru snow drifts

We crossed the border into Canada in late afternoon. Yay!!! With the cold spell we are in a hotel in Estevan. Hopefully once this front passes, our target low of 10F will have us camping again. Ironically, it is warmer than that at our summer home in Healy, AK right now.

  1. Glad you are doing okay in spite of the weather. Your dad thought it was hilarious that you might “count” the number of pheasants! Kind of like us counting squirrels.

We are likely to get into Texas today traveling on straight roads and temperatures in the 70s.

    1. We were having fun with the pheasant “count”. Enjoy the lovely weather in Texas! If you get bored, try counting squirrels. On Day 2 we had a blast watching the wind blow raindrops every direction on our RainX treated windshield. We would laugh uproariousy when a drop made a hard turn or switched direction entirely. This may sound boring, but was actually entertaining because of the way the drops reacted to the violent wind shifts.
