We have been home just over a month and spent a chunk of that time building a Yardistry 8′ x 10′ greenhouse from Costco.

We have lots of rocks on our property so used them before adding the landscape stone that we purchased.

We chose to install the greenhouse on a flat area near an existing water spigot. The site has great sun exposure to the east and south, with some deciduous trees to the west.

We created a work table by using a trailer. It worked great for keeping assembly at a comfortable height.

Supposedly it take 3 people to install the roof, but C was somehow able to lift the rafters on his own.

The 112 page instruction manual walked us through the assembly in detail. Two of our pieces were slightly damaged, but we chose to use them rather than wait for replacements.

There are beeswax vent openers which which open and close two windows based on the temperature. The max temperature has still managed to get up to 126F, so they are critical this time of year!

For now I will be using pots and planters to grow vegetables and herbs in the fall, winter and spring. I have greens such as lettuce, spinach, arugula and kale started and will move them in before it freezes. I am curious what summers and winters will be like inside without using electricity. Possibly in the future, I will try planting a few perennials in the ground. I would love a pomegranate tree!

We are impressed with the kit design. The greenhouse is sturdy, functional, and smells great.

We are both loving retirement, though we hope the pace slows down.
