The five-week old sled dog puppies at Denali National Park are adorable. Volunteers and park staff are asked to help socialize the puppies. Storm was my favorite, she is on the far left in the photo below. Webcam of puppy kennel: https://www.nps.gov/dena/learn/photosmultimedia/webcams-pups.htm.

Later the same day we went on a thrilling flight with Fly Denali in Healy. We flew very close to Denali for outstanding 10,000-foot views of the 20,310 foot mountain. We then landed on Ruth Glacier just 10 miles from The Mountain – it was mind-boggling and gorgeous.

Fortunately, another ski plane took off shortly after we landed. Watching the plane helped give perspective on how immense even the smaller mountains are surrounding Denali, The Great One.

The above mountains are much shorter than Denali, but the plane quickly shrank to a tiny dot against their flanks. Above and below is the same photo, zoomed in below so you can see the plane.

Of course, the photos barely begin to capture the awesome experience.

The next day we took a transit bus to East Fork. At a distance we watched a light brown Grizzly with 2 tiny black cubs. We also saw 25 Dall Sheep, 24 Caribou, 3 Moose, and 1 each porcupine, golden eagle and northern harrier.

Meanwhile, I continue to volunteer as well, working in hard snow and 36 Fahrenheit on June 8, then today, sunny and a warm 68 degrees on June 12.

A week ago in Anchorage I went to the zoo while Charlie fished. Fun times!
