Another 300 miles closer!  This seems to be a good distance for us as we never need to rush, and we are done for the day shortly after we are eager to quit.

We stopped at this same scenic viewpoint of the Columbia River when traveling to Alaska via the Alaska Ferry (Alaska Marine Highway) our first time in 2022. 

Every trip back and forth in 2023 and 2024 has been completely in the truck, crossing the border various places in North Dakota. We are greatly looking forward to spending 3 days on the ferry and not in the truck!

Our fun stops today were the above scenic viewpoint, a Cabela’s shopping trip, and looking for birds (including California Quail) after supper.

 Tomorrow, we will deviate a bit and visit C’s sister.   Then April 11 we drive to Bellingham and then get on the Alaska Marine Highway.  My parents will be joining us for the ferry portion of our journey.
