We completed the first 400 miles of our estimated 4000-mile drive. We have a shorter drive this spring, but will cover a longer distance as we will be on the Alaska Ferry from Bellingham, Washington to Haines, Alaska for 3 days. It’s a beautiful way to take a break from sitting behind the steering wheel!

We stopped at the C&O Canal in Hancock, MD. One fish, two turtles, and three ducks were swimming in the canal. This turtle was hard to see at first, but obvious once we knew where he was.

We need to be in Bellingham on April 11. Despite 3 planned detours along the way and a miserable forecast for tomorrow, we should have plenty of time.
