We finished Saskatchewan today and drove halfway across Alberta. We are also halfway done mile-wise. 2250 miles driven since we left Virginia and about that much remaining to Healy, Alaska.

We saw 3 coyotes today. One was exceptionally large with very thick fur. A local told us it might have some wolf blood as they sometimes interbreed.

Shortly afterwards we saw some large flocks of Snow Geese flying about. We pulled over to watch them, an invigorating break in the tedium of the drive through the Canadian Prairies.

Last year we added a side trip to Jasper National Park at this point in our trip. That was lovely! https://roaming-nature.com/2023/03/09/day-eight-jasper-national-park/

On day 5 last year, we had spent the morning at the National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown, ND. Worth a visit: https://roaming-nature.com/2023/03/06/day-five-jamestown-to-canada/
