Today we drove Johnson’s Crossing, YT to Toad River, BC. The highlight was the wolverine about 5 miles north of Liard River Hot Springs. He was cooperative letting C take several great photos before he ran into the woods.

We started and ended the day with Trumpeter Swans. We also saw over 100 Wood Bison, a Black Bear, a Porcupine, a Grouse, and 14 Elk. C heard an elk bugle, but I missed it.

On top of all the incredible wildlife and gorgeous scenery, we also enjoyed a good soak in Liard Hot Springs. It was 52 degrees outside, much warmer than our visit around zero degrees outside in March. Both times the water has been HOT!

We have now driven over 1000 miles since leaving Healy a week ago. For tonight we have a nice cabin on a lake at Toad River Lodge. We can see elk and swans from our cabin porch.
