We were on the Alcan Highway by mid-afternoon and are in Canada tonight. We drove in sun, snow, rain and clouds. The snow wasn’t sticking, so road conditions were much better than our March trip to Alaska.

We saw a lot of swans. The white adults were always in pairs with 2 per pond. The highlight was a family that included 4 grey cygnets.

The fall colors were glorious throughout the day. A few of the highest elevation areas were past peak, but much of the yellow and gold was brilliant and bright.
We stayed at Ida’s Motel which was a bit pricey but would stay there again if Talbot Arm Motel in Destruction Bay isn’t convenient.
