Total salmon for 3 days: 10 coho and 1 chum. M 2 coho, C 8 coho and one chum. Running total for 5 trips this summer is 2 sockeye, 33 coho, 9 chum and at least 10 pink. We released most of these fish, but enjoyed eating or giving away others.
Sept 8 – Sheep Creek Slough was flooded and running as if it were a river. We paddled the canoe up much, much further than usual looking for calm spots where the fish might hang out. We saw a few chum salmon, but did not catch anything. No one else was fishing the Slough at all, though a couple campground sites were occupied.

Sept 9 – We moved to Caswell Creek. So many fish, though most past their prime. I caught and released a very blush coho salmon. C caught and released several blush coho before catching a bright one for our lunch. Then he caught and released even more, for 7 total coho (plus one accidentally snagged rather than caught legitimately). He also caught a chum.

Sept 10 – We fished at Caswell again in the morning each catching one coho. Left at lunchtime, eating out and then heading to Vitus in Trapper Creek to take our weekly shower. They provide towels too!
