I saw a baby Dall Sheep! My first wildlife baby of the year. I could see it well with the binoculars but didn’t even try for a photo. C saw a moose baby earlier this week. I hope to see a baby caribou this year!

On Friday I took the free Park shuttle bus to Savage River then went on a short hike. I like riding the bus with lots of eyes looking for animals.

While enjoying a spring day in the Park I saw 4 Dall Sheep (one of which was the baby), 2 Caribou, a young bull Moose, Ptarmigan, Harlequin Ducks, and an Arctic ground squirrel. I just missed a grizzly that went behind a ridge and refused to reappear.

I haven’t got around to identifying the pretty plant above. I suspect it is one of the dwarf willows.
