When we returned from Fairbanks it was clear moose had been visiting. All of the snow melted from our plowed driveway leaving it very soft. Great for seeing lots of moose prints!

We followed moose sign back our outhouse path. When he hit the outhouse he went onto the landing & then right beside it. Glad I wasn’t in it when he went so close!

There are fresh tongue prints on the truck we left behind. They didn’t do as thorough a job licking it clean as last time – maybe they like it better when the dirt is thicker.

The moose strip bark from aspen using their bottom incisors (they don’t have top incisors, but do have both top & bottom teeth much further back in their mouths). Below is some fresh stripping along the outhouse path.

So much snow has melted from the path since April 18! It is nice to be seeing little patches of earth for the first time in 7 weeks.

Two moose paused at the edge of the driveway last night but didn’t turn in.
