Day one on the Alaska Highway (aka “Alcan”, Alaska-Canada Highway). We had driven over 3100 miles to get to “Mile 0”. We ended the day with the first 283 miles under our belt, and ready to cross the Rockies tomorrow.

We have a new focus on fuel. Pulling the trailer has us plotting gas stop at least every 180 miles. Yesterday we contacted 4 gas stations between Fort Nelson and Watson Lake. 2 are open and currently have gas, while 2 are closed for the winter. If we fill up at both, we will be fine. (We are carrying a can with 5 gallons, just in case.)

We may not have cell service for the next day or two, depending how long we stay at Liard Hot Springs.
